LinkedIn CoPilot ("the Extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our Chrome extension.
Summary: We don't collect, store, or sell your personal data. All data stays on your device.
Information We Access
The Extension accesses the following information only when you actively use it:
- LinkedIn Profile Data: Name, headline, job title, company, and other publicly visible profile information from the LinkedIn page you are viewing. This is used solely to generate personalized messages.
- Your Settings: API key, language preference, message tone, and other configuration options you set within the Extension.
How We Use Information
- Profile data is sent to Google's Gemini AI service to generate personalized messages
- Your settings are stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage API
- Generated messages are displayed to you and not stored permanently
Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect personal information
- We do not track your browsing activity
- We do not use analytics or tracking scripts
- We do not store LinkedIn profile data
- We do not share data with third parties (except Google Gemini API for message generation)
- We do not sell any data
Third-Party Services
The Extension uses Google Gemini AI to generate messages. When you generate a message:
- Profile information from the current LinkedIn page is sent to Google's API
- This is subject to Google's Privacy Policy
- You provide your own API key, giving you control over this connection
Data Storage
All data is stored locally on your device:
- Settings are stored using Chrome's local storage API
- No data is stored on external servers
- You can clear all data by removing the Extension
Permissions Explained
- activeTab: To read profile information from the LinkedIn page you're viewing
- storage: To save your settings locally
- scripting: To display the Extension's interface on LinkedIn
- host_permissions (linkedin.com): To function on LinkedIn pages
Your Rights
You can:
- Stop using the Extension at any time by disabling or removing it
- Clear all stored settings by removing and reinstalling the Extension
- Control what profile sections are used for message generation
Children's Privacy
The Extension is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
